TOTAL CARE DISABILITY SERVICES

Plan Management

What is NDIS plan management?

NDIS plan management is a service that supports participants to manage the funding in their NDIS plans.

If you’re a participant in the NDIS – or applying to become one – you might want to make life a little less complicated.

That’s where Total Care Disability Service Plan Management comes in.

Why use a Plan Manager

Total care Disability Services is a NDIS registered provider who assist participants to manage the funding in their NDIS plans. They work with participants to:

But not all Total Care Disability Service Plan Management are created equal. At Total Care Disability Services, there’s so much more we do to support our clients on their NDIS journey – like investing in innovation, so we’re adaptive to change, and backing disability community events for everyone to enjoy!

Plan Manager

Every time we receive an invoice from a provider, our client (or their primary contact) receives an SMS notification to let them know who’s claiming from their plan and how much they’re claiming.

That means they have peace of mind knowing they can contact us to query any invoices that don’t look quite right. They can switch SMS notifications on by calling us on P:1300 977 007 or M0497170758 (NSW time) Monday to Friday

And, for an added layer of protection, our clients can also elect to block automatic payment of invoices from certain providers or set up automatic approvals for payments greater than $10,000 – they just need to give us a call.

Key Benefits of NDIS Plan Management

1. Financial Administration

One of the primary benefits of NDIS Plan Management is the handling of financial administration. The Plan Manager is responsible for processing invoices, claiming payments from the NDIS, and ensuring that providers are paid promptly. This alleviates the burden of paperwork and allows participants to focus on their other needs.

2. Budget Tracking

Plan Managers help participants monitor their spending and ensure that they remain within their budget. They provide regular updates and reports, making it easier for participants to keep track of their funds and avoid overspending. This is particularly beneficial for those who may find financial management challenging.

3. Access to a Wider Range of Providers

Participants using Plan Management have the flexibility to choose from both NDIS-registered and non-registered providers. This significantly broadens the range of services and supports available, allowing participants to select providers that best meet their needs and preferences. It also encourages competition among providers, leading to better quality services.

4. Support and Guidance

Plan Managers offer valuable support and guidance to participants. They assist in understanding the NDIS plan, making informed decisions, and navigating the complexities of the NDIS system. This support is particularly crucial for participants who may be new to the NDIS or find the system overwhelming.

5. Increased Control and Independence

While Plan Management provides professional support, it still allows participants to retain control over their NDIS plan. They can make choices about their supports and services without the administrative burden. This balance of support and control promotes independence and empowers participants to take charge of their lives.

6. Time-Saving

Managing an NDIS plan can be time-consuming, especially when dealing with multiple providers and services. By outsourcing the administrative tasks to a Plan Manager, participants save time and can focus on other important aspects of their lives, such as personal goals, hobbies, and relationships.

7. Expertise and Experience

Plan Managers are experienced professionals who understand the intricacies of the NDIS. They stay updated on the latest changes and policies, ensuring that participants receive accurate information and advice. This expertise helps participants make the most of their NDIS funding and supports.

FAQs about NDIS plan management

To find an NDIS plan manager, you first need plan management funding included in your NDIS plan.

All NDIS participants are eligible for plan management. If your current NDIS plan doesn’t have the funding included and you want to be plan managed, you can call the National Disability Insurance Agency on 1800 800 110 to ask for it to be added.

Plan management doesn’t cost you anything! Plan management fees are paid from a specific budget category within your NDIS plan.
It’s a benefit of the NDIS that participants can be supported by a plan manager without having to use the funds set out for their other supports.

There are three options to manage your NDIS funding – plan management, self management or Agency management. You can choose one option, or a mix of two or three.

If you choose to be plan managed, you’ll receive support to manage the funding in your NDIS plan. A good plan manager provides the team, tools and technology to help you keep on top of your spending, without the hassle of time-consuming administration!

With self management, you or your plan nominee are responsible for managing your NDIS funding. That includes claiming from the NDIS, paying invoices, and undertaking administration (e.g., record keeping, completing Agency audits, and ensuring payments are compliant).
When it comes to being Agency managed, the National Disability Insurance Agency will handle payments and administration associated with your plan.
